Ying graduated with a double degree – Bachelor of Health Science/ Applied Science (Chiropractic) from RMIT University and is currently undertaking a Master in Sport and Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) at Victoria University. She is also currently in the progress of completing her International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) by the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS).
Upon graduation from her Chiropractic degrees, she was awarded the Sport Chiropractic Graduate Award and employed as a staff member of RMIT Sports Academy, where she did her final year placement. She is currently Head Sports Trainer (Practicing as Chiropractor) at RMIT University for the University Basketball League (UBL) teams. She has also previously been Assistant Supervising Clinician to the final year Chiropractic, Osteopathy, and Remedial Massage students, has been Head Medical to the sporting teams representing RMIT at UniSport Nationals 2022, and has volunteered at national and international events such as the Beach Volleyball World Pro Tour – Elite 16 2022 and Australian Beach Volleyball Tour 2022.
Ying uses a variety of treatment techniques, tailored towards the needs of the individual. She believes there is no ‘one size fits all’ way of treating. Techniques she utilises include soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisation techniques, spinal manipulation techniques, taping, exercise and rehab etc.
Outside of work, Ying is an avid runner and dancer, so you can find her either in the dance studio or outdoors. She also speaks a few languages – English, Chinese, Malay, Hokkien dialect, Spanish (basic competency).
